I am envious of you guys. As some of you know, I am in Chicago looking after my 92 year old mother while my sister is visiting Seattle in preparation to become a gandmother.
Yesterday would have been a magnificent soaring day here in the Chicago area. Perfect CUs, in streets. I was in agony thinking about how good a day it was and me stuck on the ground. Cloud bases were about 6000+ ft. I knew you guys were probably having a good day. I'm sure you thermal hogs will use up all the good lift before I'm back in Dansville in November.
Safe Soaring,
Chuck

: Come out and soar, the season is not over.
: Today the soaring was great with thermal
: strengths up to 700fpm up to cloud base
: which ranged from 4600 to 5600ft msl. There
: were extensive cloud streets and the
: conditions for cross country flight were
: outstanding. Jake and Doug B. flew the
: Bergfalke to an off-field landing at Seven
: Gullies, Jari and I flew the Grob and
: Pegasus respectively, for over 2 hours each,
: while John Caldwell flew the K21 after Tom
: finished several instruction flights. Come
: out and play, but dress warmly.
