Good morning everyone,
I would like to bring everyone’s attention to a task at hand, the deck for the clubhouse. As I see it, there is not a whole lot to do to get it up. If we can get a solid crew of individuals that are willing to sacrifice some of their flying and/or personal time for this, I see no reason why this can’t be finished for the up and coming Vintage Regatta.
I have put together a simplified work breakdown.
- Foundation
Holes
How deep?
Forms?
Reinforcement
Concrete I estimate ~1.5 cubic yards
Redi-mix? (would have to schedule deliver)
Bags and a portable mixer? (could pour at our leisure)
Mounts
4X4s
mounting hardware
- Deck mounting
Sub frame?
Wall attachment?
Siding issues?
Steps
Here is what I have regarding the tasks. I am hoping to have the holes dug and concrete poured by Sunday evening (6/29). That would leave next week, and the following weekend to do the setup. I realize this may sound aggressive, but if we have the crew, with tools and material on hand, I can’t imagine the foundation taking longer.
If anyone would like to comment or put together some ideas on the best way to accomplish this, now is the time to speak up and join this team. I would like to get a crew together and start work this weekend. There is little reason for delay since the weather may not be the best for flying.
I am sure that many, if not all, of us have lots of other projects and task to get through in their personal lives, as I do. As I see it though, there is really not a lot to do here. Many hands would make the work very short.
Thanks
Mark
