Weel, the weather wasn't the only thing to surprize us this weekend! Tom Roberts got a taset fo his own medicine Saturday when Jim Rizzo reminded Jesse Sullivan that Tom was turning a certain age. Jesse, as expected, cranked up the party machine and baked a cake ('cause he knew Tom was a 'comin') that had Toms old contest number on it. "Tom's field" as Jesse's (and Sue's no doubt) cake made out, was a wonder to view, and tasted just as good. As Jesse said the only thing not edible was the toothpick which held up the wind sock and the candles that made a teepee bonfire in one corner of the "field".
But the best? yes, sack clothed missionaries that attempted to sing a dirge as they processed to the "pit" of fire.
Talk to Tom about it.
Just like Ray's weather though, the sweet had some bitterness in it. You all probably know that Jesse is going inactive for awhile. He will be sorely missed, but stands a beacon to the rest of us to get off our duffs and create some more fun.
