I saw the BLIPs and prognostications too. I knew it was going to be a good day because I was unable to be down in Dansville due to a previously scheduled commitment. (Darn Weddings!) The Law of Dynamic Negatives worked again. It looked like a good day to run down to PA and back. I'm still glad our Students and Juniors had good flights.

: The Blipmaps forecast 400ft/m lift to 4K while
: ADDS predicted high cirrus which I expected
: would kill the lift. In fact, fabulous blue
: streets developed running parallel to the
: wind; the lift exceeded 500f/m with peak
: gusts to 1000f/m. Andy Longini, and Paul
: Lamay had great flights with me in the ASK21
: before lunch. After lunch Jake Smith and
: Mike Kestin had fabulous flights soaring at
: up to 4400ft along the streets for about 1
: hour each with me along for ballast. They
: had great fun battling to outclimb the
: german Bergfalk and french Pegasus with much
: encouragement from the englishman in the
: back seat. Rule Brittania!
: Linda flew the Grob, while the Bergfalk was
: flown by Dave Van Der Linden with Tom
: Roberts, and Ray Cipriano with Jari Wallach.
: Doug Bradley had a great flight in the
: Pegasus off a winch tow.
: On each tow Rick Lafford dropped us off in a
: booming thermal while Hans ran the operation
: with his characteristic efficiency and fun.
: Quite correctly Hans chastized the duty
: instructor for exceeding the 40min
: instructional flight time limit. He did not
: accept the excuse that the lift was too
: strong to come down earlier.
