And many thanks to Rick Roman, who has agreed to stay on as disbursing treasurer! The board acknowledges a terrific job by Rick, and some are a little jealous of his new freedom.
Cy Kastner was elected to a position on the board, and members are eager to get his perspective, ideas and "juice" to help guide the club into its growth phase. Already this year we have garnered 7 new members, partly due to the clubhouse, but mostly due to the new attitude of putting the fun into our endeavors!
I have heard more than once from new members that they are here because the club has gained a reputation for being a "friendly" club.
As for me, Jim Rizzo, it looks like another 3 year stint, in which I wish to renew my energy and find some new ideas, but mostly to make new people feel welcome on the field and to help all of us have a good time and get along.
The annual dinner was a success, and everyone had a good time. You missed some GREAT food (cousin Patti promised you would beg me go back!) and some very entertaining stuff. Bill and Barb Koschara, owners of 7 Gullies airport, came as guests of the club, and we gave them some good cheer, good humor and ample room in night shirts that we converted from our XL FLSC tee shirts! (Thanks Jesse Sullivan, for supplying them!) They also got to be the but (BUTT?) of romantic humor a la yours truly, who invited them to the party while flying over 7 gullies one day!
You also missed a charming (if I say so myself) rendition of the chicken hawk AWARD of Jim Rizzo's short pants flight to Bradford PA complete with an impression of Doug Cline and thank you jokes to Matt Lyon and Chuck Zabinski, and to Tim Mara, who sent me a CZ shirt in an envelope labeled "I hear you need some clothes!" DON'T MISS NEXT YEAR! DON'T MISS THE SPRING MEETING!
So, as Charlie Spratt likes to say, "See ya at the Airport!"
