Alex:
No problem. We have student and long distance members already, and transition is a breeze. It will make a much better power pilot of you and most of our members have multiple ratings. So Call me at 585 546 4490 or one of the other guys on the website and we will get you hooked (up). President is Tom Roberts at 585 746 1642. You will be working off the money you save from power, but it amounts to about one day of "work" (socializing and helping out t the field) per month. You can fly on your duty days too. Jim Rizzo
: Hey everybody!
:
: My name's Alex, I'm an 18 year old student,
: and just finished my Private Pilot checkride
: about two weeks ago. Alas, I'm headed up to
: SUNY Geneseo for college, and I'm not going
: to be able to afford very much airtime in
: powered airplanes throughout my college
: years.
:
: A friend of mine turned me on to the idea of
: flying gliders in the meanwhile, and I'm
: very much into the suggestion. Looking at
: the rates page, it does seem to be a whole
: mess cheaper than powered flight, and I'm
: sure it'll do nothing but improve my
: stick-and-rudder skills.
:
: So, what would be involved in joining up
: with the club and getting some glider
: instruction? I'm not bringing my car up from
: Long Island, so I'd have to find a ride to
: the airport, but I'm sure I could arrange
: something.
:
: Thanks for any help!
