Potential Member, Have Questions

Hey everybody!
My name's Alex, I'm an 18 year old student, and just finished my Private Pilot checkride about two weeks ago. Alas, I'm headed up to SUNY Geneseo for college, and I'm not going to be able to afford very much airtime in powered airplanes throughout my college years.
A friend of mine turned me on to the idea of flying gliders in the meanwhile, and I'm very much into the suggestion. Looking at the rates page, it does seem to be a whole mess cheaper than powered flight, and I'm sure it'll do nothing but improve my stick-and-rudder skills.
So, what would be involved in joining up with the club and getting some glider instruction? I'm not bringing my car up from Long Island, so I'd have to find a ride to the airport, but I'm sure I could arrange something.
