Hi Jose,
Glad to hear you got some advice and help from harvey-hes great! As far as the question about other exercise including yoga I would suggest you run anything new you do by your tx doctor or nurse. However, I had my lung tx in 94 and my kidney just 6 months ago and I am a huge advocate on yoga as well as plates-certainly use your own judgement on the "level" of stretching while performing the exercises but working into anything slowly with the correct form will give you benefits. Currently, I do alot of pilates work and use the Winsor Pilates tapes which are great. I have practiced regular yoga and also bikram yoga(may be contraindicated since it is in a 110 degree heated room-i did it prior to kidney tx when immune suppresion was quite low but now a bit higher since just receiving kidney so i would suggest that would be determined by how long out if safe at all. I never got sick though and flushed out alot of toxins for me and really increased level of flexibility.
You can however Jose, find either yoga or plates at your local gym or on video through the computer or any video stotre-good luck to you,
Dottie
PS I have been lifting weights for 15 years and have had many positive effects such as keeping me strong for tx, helping to fight off side effects of meds-weight gain, fluid retention, increased bone density, positive effects on your mood as well as a sense of strength mentally and physically
