Jose, Strenght training will not effect your kidney, as you notice I said "tone",of course heavy lifting could be dangerous.Sit-ups, also gives your abs strenght which in turns gives your lower back strenght which allows you legs to be stronger. DON`T BE AFRAID TO STRENGHTEN YOUR STOMACH MUSCLES,it`e really vital.
I started out doing 10 sit-ups, I am up to 100 with legs up and 100 with legs down.
As you get older the Prednisone will make it harder to control your gut(beer gut),so it`s important to have good stomach muscles to prevent this.Yoga is good, I just don`t have the patience for it.Keep up the good work, drink a lot of water and increase your walking 10% weekly or bi-weekly.
