Posted by Harvey on 3/14/2003, 10:35 pm A forty eight year old school teacher called me today from Utah. She had back surgery(fusion-neck) 6/02, and developed an life threating blood clot in her left arm.The arm became swollen, blue and very painful. She was given blood thinner and other medication, she was very sick.
She met a friend of mind on a ski trip and my friend told her of my experience with health problems and how my life had made a turn with exercise and nutrition programs.
She called me last September, we had a Q&A conversation about her physical needs, which I thought would be the treadmill at a very slow pace and try to accelerate to a comfortable pace plus a small portion diet of fruits, veggies, nuts, whole grain, chicken, fish.olive oil, onions dried beans.
Today, she is walking 15 minute miles(5 days a week) and has lost 23 pounds and feels, as she put it," a teenager on the prowl"
As the weather is getting warmer and fresh air smells so good, try a walk, stretch out, feel good and just look around at the beauty upon you and be thankful for what you have today because tomorrow we don`t know.
