Hi. I have lived in the Rice lake area all my life but have never fished it. But
have fished a lot in the Otonabee river that flows into the lake and also at Hastings. Your are absolutly right about the decline in Walleye fishing, it is sadly on the decline all throught the Trent System and Zebra muscles have a lot to do with it, also over fishing has to be part of the problem. I live in Peterborough not far from Rice Lake and it is fairly evident that the fishing is poor as you dont see as many license plates from Ohio, New York, Pennsilvania and so on.
