So I get to the lake with my parents, finally got them out for the first time this year, Haven't been to gull un two weeks, so like any normal idiot I assume nothing has changed at brownlows landing...WRONG...I attemp to cross the pressure crack at the same place that I have all summer, even after my dad thought it would be best to follow the new trail...so my suv breaks through the ice and I sink the front end about 2-3 feet into the water, back end for the most part stayed pretty high... Long story short thanks to the guy with the big dodge that yanked me out of there, glad to see so many people help out with the truck and another bunch with a good tow rope.
So if you go out there....Follow the new trail to the right...I don't think I'll hear the end of this from my dad haha, I guess after 21 years I'm not as smart as I thought.
As for the fishing...4 whites caught, 5 pike, 1 burbot.
I also saw a perch which I've named zeus...this thing was massive, never seen a perch as big as this one, had to be in the 14-16 inch range and was built like a bulldog, he took one bite and I just missed him.
Good day of fishing and a lesson well learned.
Be Safe!
