My great-grandfather. Anders Gustaf Larsson was on the Germanic when it arrived in the Port of New York on 8 Sept. 1879. He lived in Kila, Sodermanland, Sweden and in Norkopping, Sweden until immigrating, following the death of his first wife. His two sons followed the next year.
I have the New York Passenger List Record showing that he arrived on that date. How exciting. He worked at the Tilly Foster mine and in creating the NYC aqueduct....
