A fleet of 8 boats attended the events. Winds were good with speeds between 5 - 15 knots. The water was warm and the sailing was fantastic. Congratulations to Pat Crump and our International Secretary Andrew Davies for winning both events. Thanks to James Nunn for his efforts in organizing the events!
Dr. Rob Thompson wins the award for the best MASH tent, and teaching another young rookie skipper how to sail a Fireball. Debbie Kirkby for showing up and bringing along Tom the commedian (a true Maineiac), Steph the Dude for keeping us entertained and bringing the ear plugs for his house mates. He hauled his coffee and coffee grinder all the way from Halifax to brew his house mates fresh coffee daily. Alan Boeve's managed to keep his boat upright and out of the Tampa Muck ( a first)! Pat showed us how to climb a Fireball mast like a water rat and then demonstrate the physics of too much weight aloft... thought I was going to fall out of the boat I was laughing so hard....! Thanks Dave White for doing a great job as the USIFA Secretary. Congratulations to Mike McEvoy for his efforts to stop smoking....Robin Jackson from Denver showed her sailing skills as a first time skipper in a Fireball. A big Thank You to Jay Tyson and his crew for running a good regatta with good courses.
A good time was had by all!
