Pointe Claire Yacht Club will be hosting the 2009 North American Championships in conjunction with our Annual Screwball Regatta. This will be a three day event, scheduled for September 25th, 26th and 27th. Screwball has become the most successful Fireball regatta on our calendar locally, and we are focused on continuing and building on that success.
The World Championships will take place in the Caribbean in the spring of 2010. We are inviting all those who are interested in that event to bring their boats to Montreal, sail with us in the fall of 2009, and then ship their boats in a container, or more, from the port of Montreal to the destination for the Worlds. In addition to this combined event, the Nepean Sailing Club will be hosting their annual FANFARE Regatta in Ottawa on September 12th and 13th. The American Yacht Club will be hosting their annual HPDO Regatta in Rye, New York on October 10th and 11th. There will be a lot of interesting competition available for those coming from afar.
We hope to see a fantastic turnout for all of these events. Canada had a very large number of participants in Thailand, and we would like to see even more Canadians and Americans in 2010 at the World Championships.
