At the risk of being repetitious, this is an invitation to compete at this year’s national championships to be held in Ottawa on September 5th, 6th and 7th. A lot of preparation is underway to make sure that we have an outstanding event. Completely unsubstantiated rumors abound of an opening ceremony with choreographed photoshop fireworks and an adorable lip-synching 9 year old Chinese girl. Dissent in outlying regions of Nepean is being quashed, the spectator stands are being force-filled and we might lose our internet connection at any moment. To guarantee that this will be the premier athletic event of 2008, all we need is your participation. If you are not incarcerated, getting married, or otherwise excused, we are counting on your attendance and active involvement. If you need to line up a crew, a helm, or a boat, please talk to each other and make it happen. Our national pride is at stake.
