Sayville did it again - great wind, warm water, food, beer, great wind, beer, great wind....to bad only 4 Fireballs showed up. New to the fleet Don Harris from Connecticut showed up with a new to him boat that had "issues" and didn't allow him to race but it was great to see a new face in the boat. Pete Fraker also had issues including a nicely hooked mast as a result of encountering the bottom and applying sufficient righting moment to bend the mast AND break the centerboard. That left McCrae and me match racing most of the time. Fireballs in 15 to 25 knots of wind and waves generated quite a buzz on the beach. Encountered one of Crumps's former crew who remembered sailing with Pat "fondly". Won the US Nats in 86 - Dave someone?
Sayville would like us back but we need to turn up with our friends next time. Fee - where the hell were you?
