There were seven Fireballs that sailed at the Pymatuning Yacht Club's Independence Day Regatta and after talking to one other Fireballer that was not in attendance it looks like there will be at leat seven Fireballs at the Sam Myers next weekend at Pymatuning Sailing Club. The hospitality at PYC was outstanding and the sailing was just beatiful on Saturday. Unfortunately after a Saturday that started out in 8-10 mph winds in the morning and eventually ended with us sailing in 15-18 mph winds in the afternoon under ble skys and clear conditions. Sunday morning broke without a breath of air and at 11:00 the club called it a regatta so wherever you were on Saturday afternoon is were you finished. After three races the final results put Graham Schaefer and Phil Pepera in first place with scores of 2-1-1
Dave White and Duncan Schaefer placed second with a score of 1-2-2, while Dave Braman and Sara LaBarre finished third with a score of 3-4-3. This was a great tune up for next weekends Sam Myers and we are hoping that some of our Canadian Friends will make the trip south to attend. After the regatta the Commodore of PYC espressed that we are invited back again next year and to mark our calenders now for 4th of July weekned next summer cause that's when it will be. I have Sayville yet to do and then I will have one more regatta allowed for this year. I'm trying to decide between the Canadian Nationals or the Screwball. I'm leaning towards the Canadian Nationals but from what Phil Prosser tells me the Screwball is a tough party to miss. Input would be appreciated. Talk to you later.
