With the Mid-winters conflicting with the Worlds we had only six boats make the regatta but a great time was had by all. Davis Island was it's usual hospitabale self and the winds were pretty good all weekend. Although the first race started in a pretty good breeze blowing from the south it only held on for one race. By the second race it had begun to die and the fleet was towed back into the club with the rest of the days racing cancelled. A rain storm came through that afternoon and it rained the rest of the evening. Saturday broke with a building wind again from the south that eventually built to 24 knots. That was the wild day and the race committee managed to get in three races before deciding the conditions were getting to bad to continue based on the damaged boats from other fleets and the time resue boats had to spend to get boats righted. The club hosted a great dinner at the club on Saturday night and Sunday the wind started off blowing at about 10 mph but again started to die after two races and the race committee called it a regatta after that. The results were pretty usual but during the course of the regatta everybody had their moments as you can see improvements in many of our sailors and after Duncan got his lines and rig figured out in his new wide bow he beagn to sail at the top of the fleet as he usuaully does. In the end Pat Crump took first, James Nunn took second and Duncan Schaefer took third.
