Hi Pete,
Two things, first is the dates of July 19-20 a confirmed date for the Eastern Regionals at Sayville. I hope they are as that is a good weekend for all concerned. Second, there is no fiberglass mold available in the US for what you are asking. We have the numbers and an outline of how to build a wide bow from wood which I can supply but if you are talking about making a glass boat you would have to first make a wooden hull then use that to pull a glass mold from. It would not be worth it for one or two boats. During my conversations with the Winder Boat company they suggested that we begin to make foam sandwich hull by using the mold we use to make a wooden hull but reduce the sizes of the hull section patterns and build the hull from the foam board used in glass construtuon. then glass over the foam. Then remove the shell and glass the inside of the foam then build wooden centerboard case and tanksides and insert to make a composite hull. They said this is the way they began to make glass hulls before they tooled up an entire mold for a glass boat. That's about all we can suggest at this time. Let me know about those dates as soon as possible as I have already told some people that those dates were ok and if I have to I will make adjustments and corrections. Talk to you later.
