During the North Americans I was talking to Mike McEvoy and he expressed that the sailing season is about over for the Montreal and Ottawa group after the Screwball due to weather conditions north of the great lakes. He suggested that we could do a regatta around the Columbus day weekend which works with the Candian Thanksgiving weekend. We couldn't do that this year as no club around here was interested in hosting such an event on such a short notice but next year there will be a regatta on Long Island Sound that the Fireball have been invited to attend that will happen over the Columbus Day weekend so there's the regatta and actually closer to the cnadians than Pymatuning. I will have more information concerning it in a couple of weeks but I would like to take this time to invite any interested Candian from the Montreal or Ottawa fleets to attend the Eastern Regional Championships at Atlanta Yacht Club on November 17-18 on Allatoona Lake off of Interstate 75, just north of Atlanta, Georgia. Camping is available at the club and there are motels within a few minutes of the club. The cost of the regatta is $35.00 before November 10, afterwards it will be $45.00. Included in the fee is seven races, trophies for the top 3 places, a continental breakfast, and Saturday's evening dinner for skipper and crew. Additional meals can be purchased for non-participants at $10.00 a meal. If anyone is interested the contact person is:

770-605-9262 cell phone
Again if anyone is still interested in sailing one last regatta before the winter sets in this is a good one as the weather down there is still very good and the Club has a great reputation for racing and putting on top notch regattas. Hope some of you can make it.
