It was a great time at Sayville Yacht Club over the weekend. We had 11 boats, four from Canada, and seven from the US.Actually the break down went like 2 boats from Ottawa, and 2 boats from Montreal, two boats from Florida, three from the Penn-Ohio area and two boats from the New York area. Winds were a steady 15-20 with a big chop and the racing was very fast with everybody finding themselves with cometition at their level. The $35.00 registration fee got you two continental style breakfasts, a dinner on Saturday night and refreshments on and off the race course. In the end Joe Jospe and Tom Egli won the regatta with Pat Crump and Ned Goss taking second, while Mike McEvoy and Rob Thompson took third. Sayville hosted a great regatta and we hope to return again in the near future as the racing is great and the hospitality is second to none. I want to thank everybody who helped organize this event and all who attended to make it such a worthwhile event.
