Anyone in the Penn-Ohio area who is not heading to the North Americans I hope would attend both of these regattas. During the winter we plan our regatta schedule out and try as hard as we do to avoid conflicts in the schedule they seem to happen every year. Sayville was planned back in October and that was the first priority of the summers scheduling for the US Association. Becuase the Pymatuning Yacht Clubs annual Independence day Regatta is always the weekend before or after the 4th of July depending on when the 4th falls we knew there would be a possible conflict with that regatta. As it turns out it will be the weekend of June 30-July 1 so there's not much of a conflict there. The Sam Myers is a bit of a surprize as many of our membership belong to PSC and should have been aware of the possible conflict with Sayville but it was scheduled for the same weekend and so be it. With 10 boats in the local fleet there should be enough boats to represent our fleet at both the PYC and Sam Myers regattas. My unofficial count puts Duncan, Fred, and myself heading to Sayville with the additional possibilly of Graham heading east as well depending on work, from what I understand. The bottom line, if you are not heading to Sayville you should be supporting the local regattas as they will be here again next year and we want them to invite us back. As for those of you who haven't made up your mind remember the the North Americans is a major regatta for both the US and Canadian Associations and the cometition should be good. We should have a good turn out as well. Pat Crump and James Nunn are making the trip up from Florida and there have been several Canadians who have expressed that they are making the trip. This regatta will not be back our way for several years as next year it will be out west and the year after it will be the Canadians turn to host them where they want them. Sayville is not that far it terms of driving and again it should be the first consideration as it is the only major regatta of the summer scheduled for the US Association. Whatever the final decision good luck, I'll be at Sayville.
: Anyone going to those regatta's.
: Unfortunately I cannot make Sayville
