Posted by Paithen Larkins Also interested in installing Jib bars. Currently I have a flat piece of metal that goes from one side deck to the other on which two pin type cars with fairleads are mounted. These give a good average angle on the clew but have no but I wanted the up/down fore/aft adjustment so I'm looking at jib bars. I'd like to know if I can get them here in the States? If not I'll fabricate some but I'd like to know some measurements for installing a surface to mount them on and also the mounting location for the bottom of the bar. I also need the bar length dimensions. We don't have any fully rigged Fireballs here in Portland to examine and this is my first Dinghy. I've seen the UKFA pictures and the pics in the Gallery on this page, I just need some dimensions for what I'm seeing. any information would be greatly appreciated. Hope to meet some of you at a Fireball event sometime soon.

Last year I aquired a '69 FRP #5455 with some parts in a box and I've rigged it functionally. I'm having problems with mast tuning and discovered my spreaders are way too long and low and aren't adjustable... So I'm trying to get new spreaders (the Proctor thumbscrew type) and I don't know how to tell a Proctor C, E, & Cumulus section apart. My mast is gold coloured if that means anything and measures approx 1.75 in. just above the fitting track and tapers fairly fine near the top. I've tried to contact Seldén and so has APS ltd. Haven't heard anything yet, and was wondering if people who actually sail Fireballs might have some tips
Thanks,
Paithen
