As for your centerboard, often they're a tight enough fit in the case that simply the side load from the sailing forces is enough to hold it in place. If your centerboard is fairly loose in the case, its a good idea to glue some sort of shim material along the sides of the head to snug it up. --Previous Message--

Congratulations John. You'll have to post some pictures.
Some people will add a clam cleat (the type that you can pull the line into from the side) to the top of the centerboard case and use that to cleat the 'board down. Never have a cleat for keeping the board UP as then you'll be in real trouble in a capsize.
