build or buy

I am a Laser 2 sailor and an industrial designer with good workshp skills in metal/wood and synthetics - I want a Fireball and haven't found one in my area to buy (and can't spend $10,000) on a new Winder, so - where can I find the very best plans for building a wide hull? or am i crazy. Thanks, M
