The stuff is for sale, it is reasonably priced, and it is for the betterment of the fleet. Agreed that you if anyone would know exactly where Risky is or is not lacking in compatability with the rules, and perhanps you would be a good resource for someone wishing her well. The fact does remain that Risky is a well built boat. The modifications that you performed to bring her into code were indeed well thought out and expertly performed. She is ready to be used again, or not- depending on the eventual buyers intentions. As for the gear it is what it is. There is some great stuff. There is some one of a kind stuff. Take it, use it, and above all have fun with it. The Fireball is and will remain an amazingly well balanced, fun to sail boat. As for me I remain where I began this interesting thread. I am a proud father that as so many know need to sacrifice some of our ourselves (and our belongings) to assist in the reality of raising a child. I thank those of you who have shown interest in some exciting gear. I hope that it will, in each part bring more enjoyment to competition, friendship, and sailing. So many thoughts.
: I have been watching this whole thing
: go down with a huge smile on my
: face. And have taken a side-line
: until now, after a number of phone
: calls asking "Am I responsible
: for yet another internet practical
: joke", I can assure you I am
: not. And Henry, if you think I am
: the only one that knows the history
: of ACME and the truth behind
: everything, you are the one that is
: liable. So let me clarify a few
: things as GARY W. VAN TASSEL II.
:
: - I was there when FI revoked the
: cert on RISKY, and I, of all people,
: know exactly where she falls short
: of measurement. I'm not saying she
: can't be fixed, BUT a boat that is
: close to 20 years old, that has had
: multiple molds taken from her and
: was built to questionable dimensions
: to begin with, WILL have problems
: measuring. That is a FACT.
:
: - As far as ACME goes, and as far as
: I am concerned all debts are
: settled. Any money that may be owed
: for down payments on boats that were
: never built, storage, mold work, etc
: is worth having that project out of
: our lives.
:
: And if you were implying I was too
: much of a coward to sign my name to
: previous postings, well thats crap.
: Anyone that knows me, knows that I
: will tell everyone exactly what I
: think, before thinking through the
: potential outcome.
:
: In closing, I will say, you have
: some good gear that someone will
: appreciate and get a decent deal on.
: So sell your gear in peace and go
: on your way. But you need to be
: forthcoming with all the facts and
: not screw over anyone, new, or
: already part of this fleet.
:
: Enough is Enough, if you are
: interested in Henry's gear, great!.
: Good gear betters our fleet and your
: Fireballin' experience. If not,
: let's let this post die like so many
: others. Our little fleet can't take
: anymore.
:
: Cheers
: Gary
