
Posted by anne I realize that this is a very late response, but I thought I would throw the possibility out there, because people can catch TB from birds, according to what I read, in ¨cockatiels for dummies.¨ Hopefully your bird is fine, but if in doubt, it might not hurt to get a TB test.

No coming from an expert here ... but I read about tuberculosis in cockatiels, and it is an intestinal disorder in that species. As horrible as it sounds, the red stuff could be the birds´ insides coming out of her vent. I don´t know if this condition affects finches ...
