Yes, they are hands off. You have to show the judge what you want them to see . . . I have a picture of Bishop at his last show where he is smelling the judge's hand, and it looks like she might be going over him, but she wasn't. She just let him smell her, then stepped back again. She probably would not have done that if he hadn't been a pup.
