Robin i hope you will have nothing against i will post this on your forum .
I got this today , maybe someone knows someone looking to adopt .
My name is Leanne and my husband Jeff and I own a Fila named Harley. We adopted him last July during a family graduation party. My husbands cousin had purchased a male and female from separate breeders somewhere in Washington with the intention of breeding. They had a liter of puppies when the mom had her first heat. (not what they planned) The situation these puppies were in broke my husbands heart. Mother and pups were seperated way back from the house and isolated from everyone. The mother was vicious. The father was a big mush ball. My husband called to ask if he could bring home one of the puppies because of how they were being raised. We already had two great danes but I said yes and he picked out a puppy. We did not know anything about the breed. (foolish us). We did start to research and I thought omg what have we gotten into. My husband assured me things would be ok. But as Harley has aged things are not ok. We run a home day care business. We have a lot of people in and out of our house every day. When Harely was a puppy it was great but now he is so stressed out it just is not fair to keep him under the circumstances. Harley is very loyal to my husband but not so much me or our five children.
We have been in contact with the fila rescue group and they have agreed to help us find a new home for him but suggested we contact some breeders to also ask for help. Harely is 17 months old and was neutered at 16 weeks of age. He is current on all shots. Harley has been raised with three other dogs and two cats. I realize you do not normally try to home adult dogs but am hoping you might have some contacts out there that could help us find the right home for Harley. He is so smart. Harley is Black with a white chest and weighs 150lbs. This decision has not been an easy one. We will not give Harley to just anyone. We want to make sure he goes with someone who knows the breed and has the right lifestyle for Harley. I'm sorry for going on and on. Thank you for reading this.
