I have the same sort of belief the problem comes when you have a person that does NOT have the knowledge or experience to train a fila to do the things you describe. When I am present my filas are fine with whatever I am fine with. If I am not present my filas act like typical filas and that is fine with me. On occasion my filas will not be fine with a situation and it is my job to be aware of that and remove the dog or change the situation. I do socialize heavily when they are young.
