Diane, Please see the email she sent me, then my reply, this was on February 4, 2008, recently enough?
I honestly was quite offended by the facts that A) the dogs would "hopefully" only produce show quality, (what are the odds of that?), and B) that I should buy a show quality dog to breed to recoup my expenses.
This woman doesn't know me from Adam, so why would she think that I am "qualified" to breed these dogs?

Dear Stephanie, we are waiting for Didi to come in heat. But, if we are lucky, Didi and Toro will produce only show quality puppies. I will keep you in mind if we have any pet quality in our next litter. Thanks for your e-mail. The cost to ship a two months old puppy, would be around $200.00. The pet quality puppy $800.00 plus the crate $45.00 and health certificate $30.00. In my opinion you are better off with a show quality puppy that you may reproduce and cover your expenses. I am interested more in a pet quality dog as I do not show nor do I have the experience to breed dogs. I have no need to recoup the cost of the dog, I want the Fila pup for companionship and protection. My husband works late shifts and he feels good knowing I am safe here at home alone with my dog. My current dog was sold to me as breed quality and is still intact. He was OFA'd with good hips and passing elbows, and when he was about a year and a half old, the breeder I got him from bred him to one of her b###hes. I was told she did not take.
I do not have the facilities, knowledge nor the desire to breed and as far as I know there aren't many Filas here in Michigan.
Do your pet quality pups come with papers? Do you show your dogs? Do you breed for black dogs? (Our dog is black.) What are the chances Didi and Toro would have a black pup?
Sorry for all of the questions, but we are actively looking to invest in another faithful guardian.
