Mahalo for your comments, Dennis!
We are so very lucky to have Sid volunteering for us for almost 9-1/2 years now! I don't think any other class has a WEBsite as awesome as ours!
I can still remember our snail-mail newsletters which included an item asking for a volunteer to help set up a WEBsite for us... Nobody responded for years, and years... Lucky for us, Carol Loo, Sid's wonderful wife, noticed the article in newsletter after newsletter, and she finally convinced Sid that maybe he should do it! When Sid contacted me, I was so surprised! I mean, after all these years, with a "no response" to our "ad," I hadn't given it more thought... Then came all the "questions," - what exactly did we want - content, design, who would help, how soon, etc. "Uh...duhhh..." I bet Sid thought, "Oh, oh...what did I get myself into?" But, he was very patient, and true to his nickname, "Speed," he put together www.kalihikids.com and had it running in like, two days! I'm serious! That was back in May 2000!
And here it is, October 2009, and Sid has faithfully continued to work at keeping us all connected to each other! Thanks to his never-ending creativity, we've gone through a lot of fun and enjoyable times via our WEBsite. So many of us here at home in Hawaii, on the mainland, even overseas in foreign lands, have been able to reach out and touch each other because of www.kalihikids.com ! And, I know there's quite a number of classmates/friends who have been able to get reacquainted, or form new friendships because of Speed's efforts to keep the WEBsite going...
BEEG MAHALO to you, Sid! You are da best thing that happened to us "kalihikids."
