SHOPO will be having a Bowl-a-thon in memory of Michael Nakamura to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. It will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at the Aiea Bowl from 12:00pm to 5:00pm.
A team will consist of five bowlers and SHOPO is suggesting a minimum of $500 per team. This does not mean that each team member must donate $100 each. Each team should go out and ask for donations and try to raise a total of $500 for the team. This is the suggested minimum and I'm sure that if you fall short of that they will still allow you to participate. Another idea might be to have whoever wishes to make a donation to send it to me and from the list of donors I will randomly select five people who indicate a desire to bowl. I am open to any other ideas to raise funds and to decide the make up of the team or teams. If by chance there are five of you out there who feel like being "Kaiser" and make your own team of five by donating $100 each that would definitely be acceptable.
I am still awaiting word for a deadline and whether or not the monies will be collected before or at the event. All checks would be made out to Muscular Dystrophy Association, unless I am notified otherwise by SHOPO.
