Posted by FHS '65 Alumni Club on 6/11/2005, 11:28 am On May 13, Friday, classmates visited the SJC Mission, Los Rios historical district, Dana Point, and hung out at Lani Martins’ home. On May 14, Saturday, it was off to the Aloha Expo, then the banquet dinner at a fine restaurant, followed by a gathering at Lani’s home where singing Hawaiian songs and “Oldies but Goodies” ended the night. And if all of that was not enough, on May 15, Sunday, some classmates met for breakfast and went to Salt Creek. Wow! The classmates in attendance were provided an opportunity to better acquaint themselves with each other, due to the more manageable number of classmate participants, compared to other reunion events that have considerably more attendees. New, old, and lasting friendships were established, which is one of the missions of the FHS ‘65 Alumni Club. The event would not have been a reality without the contribution of time and effort of the event Chairperson, Kahealani “Lani” Martins (formerly Bernadette Martin), who now resides in San Juan Capistrano, California. Lani had, and has, a passion for reuniting classmates and volunteered to take on this project. The concept and execution of the event was Lani’s “brain child”. As with any event, the planning and coordination took many months of “sweat and tears“. As a result of Lani‘s efforts, more FHS ‘65 classmates are now “friends”. Members of the planning committee in addition to Lani included Bernadette Estrera, Carol Sakai Ho, Cal Cummings, Anna Calamayan Pasion, and Bernadette Heffner Ahuna. Lani, on behalf of your FHS' 65 Alumni Club and your classmates, we extend our sincerest appreciation for your contribution toward furthering fellowship amongst all of us.

After receiving many positive comments from classmates who attended the FHS ‘65 Kaleponi (California) Reunion held in San Juan Capistrano on May 13, 14, and 15, 2005, it is safe to conclude that the event was very well planned, and another very successful get-together of classmates.
