Kurt : The rear axle on your Falcon shoule mount on TOP of the rear springs .This is the way passenger vehicles with leaf springs were built . If your car has the axle mounted on the Bottom of the leaf spring , then one of two things has been done . One , is that someone has relocated the Spring Pirch on the axle to give the car added highth in the rear Or , The rear axle that you have in the car is a Truck axle , as they were mounted under the rear spring in trucks . If your rear axle is a 4 luger , then most likely the spring pirches were moved from the underside of the housing , and rewelded to the upper side of the housing to give the rear of your car some added highth .
If you want the standard ride and highth from your car , then you need to have the axle mounted on the Top of the rear leaf springs .
Sincerely ,
Bob
