Darn, darn, darn, just DARN!
I got our prized C4 home from the junkyard, mounted it on my engine stand, plugged all the open holes, soaked it in oven cleaner, power washed the heck out of it (getting myself very wet and dirty in the process) and was just so happy. I then went to remove the rear mount (which was attached when we bought the tranny) and, uh-oh, one of the ears spun in my hand. Removing the mount I found that not only was one mounting ear broken off, but there was a gaping hole that allowed me to inspect some of the transmissions innards.
So, it's back to the junkyard for me to pick up another transmission. I think the moon is full now - that must be it!
