: A couple of years ago, I bought a
: rebuilt carburetor from eBay. Model
: type C2DE. It arrived in good shape
: and looked as good as a new one.
:
: Today, I finally got around to
: putting it on the car. It started up
: fine, but after a few minutes, it
: became obvious that it was stating
: to flood the engine. Seemed like all
: I had to do was to take off the air
: horn, see what was wrong with the
: float or needle valve, and I'd be in
: fat city. But when I tried to get it
: off, I found that it was stuck on. I
: tried to pry it off, pull it off,
: etc. No luck. Can anyone suggest a
: method to safely remove the air horn
: without damaging it or the float
: bowl.
:
: Thanx.

i have used a one inch putty knife by lightly tapping it into the gasket all the way around the air horn. in my shop manual it (looks like) about ten screw holes in the main body.is there a chance you missed one, because it is the last thing you want to force open.get back.dave.
