Tie rod ends: this can't be right!

OK, so I'm beginning the restoration of the steering and front suspension on our '63. On the driver's side, the inner tie rod end has right hand threads and the outer has left hand threads. On the passenger side, both inner and outer tie rod ends have right hand threads. Is this normal, or has someone before me installed some incorrect parts?
