I have not done it--I just masked off the windshield when i painted the dash. But on other cars, when I was replacing a cracked windshield, I forced a piece
of steel wire under the glass and pulled until I got the glass out, but I didn't care if it chipped or cracked more--which it usually did. The windshield in my 60 Ranchero has (I believe) the original cracked/weathered rubber gasket which does not leak. Do you really need to pull the windshield?
