Posted by JimG on 9/30/2007, 4:08 am BTW, our project is coming along nicely. My friend Amelia's dad had had kept her first car, a '63 Falcon 4-door, auto, in a barn on his farm, and now we're fixing it up. The body is rust free, but all 4 doors were rusty, the interior needed everything, and most of the trim isn't usable. But we bought a Falcon on eBay with a rusty body, but great doors (with windows that roll up & down perfectly), an excellent blue interior (identical to Amelia's car) and most trim usable. We drove the parts car back from Pennsylvania and will use that engine temporarily due to money constraints (it's a 170 that purrs like a kitten). Later, we hope to upgrade to a larger engina and a 3-speed. Amelia learned to use a paint gun and she has painted the door jams and trunk (don't worry, we're getting a professional body shop to paint the outside of the car). She will paint the underhood area once the engine is out, and she's saing the blue interior trim (inside doors and dash) for last. We hope to post some pictures on the web sometime soon. Right now, the car is very ugly with no doors, no trunk lid, and a gutted interior. So far, it's been a very fun project for this Mopar guy! Jim

We're about ready to yank the engine out of the '63 4-door we're working on. Just a couple of quick questions. First, it looks like I need to drop the tie rod, because it's blocking the transmission (a 2-speed auto) from moving forward. Second, have you found it easier to leave the transmission cooling lines attached and pull them with the engine and trans, or have you found it easier to remove them first? Same question for the vacuum line that runs from the manifold to the trans. And if there are any issues I haven't spotted yet, please feel free to speak up!
