Jim, a C4 from a 200 through 1979 or so will bolt up to the engine. You'll need to buy or make a mount adapter unless you find a transmission from a '65 Falcon or a '64-65 Comet. Look for a transmission from a column shift car so the linkage works in the right direction - floor shifts have the lever reversed. I swapped a 200 and C4 from a '79 Fairmont into my old '62 Futura and there were no issues with bellhousing clearance. I made my own mount adapter, but I believe several of the Falcon vendors are selling them now. JL

: We're looking to swap a larger

: "engine" half of the
: equation. How about the trans? My
: internet research indicates that
: there are C4's that will bolt to a
: 170 or a 200. Do you know which
: donor vehicles I should seek out for
: a trans? (It seems I read that
: '79-down transmissions have the same
: bolt pattern, so I'm assuming any
: '79-down C4 that was bolted to a six

: floorpan interference issues? And
: finally...it would be great if a 200
: and a 3-speed auto for transplant
: could be found in the same (and
: cheap!) donor vehicle.

: Thanks again for sharing your
