As long as the convertible is a post-V8-introduction car the V8 drivetrain will bolt in. The easiest way to tell is the battery orientation - early '63 had the battery lengthwise; later ones had it mounted sideways. Early '63 models had less firewall clearance, so the V8 bellhousing and exhaust may give problems. You'll need to swap the whole drivetrain of course - engine, trans, mounts, driveshaft, rear axle, linkages, wiring, front suspension and steering linkage, front and rear brakes, wheels, etc. - all different on the V8 cars.
