That's a pretty straight forward approach, thanks for the imput.
: I just did the generator to 1-wire
: alternator swap. I used the existing
: generator bracket--I had to redrill
: the mounting holes to move it
: forward an inch or so, then made a
: spacer out of a piece of steel tube
: to go over the long bolt that goes
: through the alternator and bracket
: to the take up the space between the
: end of the bracket and the
: alternator. I cut and rewelded the
: old generator tensioner bracket to
: clear the fan on the alternator. I
: didn't have to move the horn or
: anything else. ONE SUGGESTION: The
: bolt on the end of the tensioner
: bracket requires you to remove the
: fan and pulley (on my 200-6) to get
: the bolt out. I should have threaded
: a stud into that hole so the bracket
: would just attach with a nut (which
: you can remove without messing with
: the fan.) By doing this, if the
: bracket needs a little adjusting
: once the belt is tight (mine was
: just touching the alternator fan)
: you can remove the bracket quickly
: to grind it or whatever.Just an idea
: to save you from saying bad words.

: Are these mounting brackets
: available
: anywhere? Or is it just something
: that need to be homemade?
