Your original transmission will bolt to any 200 through about 1981. The 250 is taller, wider at the mounts, and has a totally different bellhousing pattern, so your original transmission won't work. First you need to determine whether it's a 200 or 250. Easiest way is the water pump bolts - 200 has 3; 250 has 4.
