general info on Hawse Forks in Mcgoffin County

My friend and I recently visited Mcgoffin County and were told about a hawse (not sure about the spelling) fork. It's not on any maps that I have been able to find or on google earth. Does anyone have any info? Thank you, in advance, for whatever you can come up with. Raymond
