Christ. The first thing to address is offside. Either give it to the assistant, or don't. The idea that the assistant can flag for an offside when he wants to can only lead to false negatives. There is no upside to the assistant flagging for offsides. If they are going to use VAR, just use it, but not both. It can always be called back if there is a goal and in most cases will take seconds to realise.
I'm still fuming about DCL being called offside and the replay proving it was blatantly on.
