You need to ask yourself where this concept and image of Liverpool people has come from, the idea that all Liverpool people are thieves and live in slums goes back to the 70s and 80s where there was proliferation of negative stereotypes projected through culture and the media. All the trashy comedy characters but also some of the excellent hard hitting dramas like Boys from the Black stuff etc. along with the right wing rags of Fleet Street with political agendas have all contributed to where we are now. The problem has been for a long time that the city of Liverpool hasn't had a national platform to counterbalance these images largely due to the fact that we don't have a tv station, The city of Liverpool has the largest regional conurbation without a tv station and Manchester is largely to blame for this,it has sucked the life out of Liverpool. It's criminal and a disgrace that Liverpool doesn't have a national tv centre .
