I'd never fainted until I was nearly forty.
I went to have a wisdom tooth removed. I've never been bothered about going to the dentist and this was actually my third wisdom tooth to be extracted. Like the others, it was a simple local anaesthetic job.
The dentist removed it and showed me the tooth. Everything was fine and I was ready to get up and go. He then said "Oh, I'm just going put a small stitch in; the gum looks a bit flappy."
At that, I passed out in the chair. It was the thought of the flappy gum that did for me.
