Doing the Welsh 3000s in May and that entails sleeping on Snowdon and descending Crib Goch. Depends what you're comfortable with. We did Gully 2 on Helvellyn in snow and ice with all the gear. Struggled up it for an hour and a half. My crampons were popping off and I had a walking axe instead of climbing axes. Had to get one of the lads to throw a rope down as I was struggling near the top. Some lad with skis just set off over the gully like it was nothing.
